When we first embarked on our quest for a pair of Irish Setter puppies we didn't want just  any Irish Setters. We were determined that certain behavioral traits and bloodline criteria had to be met. After a lengthily and educational search , we found Akela and Senora. They quickly became part of our family and it is hard to remember a time when they weren't with us. Senora is retired and will be the setters' matriarch. She will be enjoying many of her favorite pastimes such as agility courses,being grandma to the puppies, hunting, swimming, 4 wheeling and just being an Irish Setter. Sasha will carry on Senora's rare pedigree.   Akela Lomann's Teddy Bear's sire, Lomann's Veltins is from Germany.  Lomann's Veltins sire,  Russells Kismet,  is a German Show Champ plus Hunting Champion. A true Dual Champ, which is rare. 

      Akela's dam, Fleetwood Farms Ginger Snap is show and bench. 

      Sasha's grandsire, Maximillian's Red Rover is show and field.  Sasha's granddam, Chanel Rose, is field, show , and bench.  She ( Chanel) is the daughter of Thee Scarlet Setter and Fleetwood Farms Jet Setter.  

      Fleetwood Farms Jet Setter and Fleetwood Farms Ginger Snap  come from an impressive blood line.  Both where born at Fleetwood Farms in Ohio.  Fleetwood Farms Jet Setter's sire, Fleetwood Farms O'Danny Boy, is a sire of Champions.                         Thee Scarlet Setter's bloodline goes back to Fleetwood lines on her sire's side, as well as many  Champion Cucuhullian lines.  Also, FC AFC "Karrycourt's Wild West Hero, " FC AFC "Damika Wild Wisk Kay", CD GH, NFC AFC "Brophy's Pumpernickle, " NFC Nafc "Brophys Mahogany Fielder," NFC, NAFC, " Darth Riader O'Reily," and  "Zarahemlas" lines which are champions in Field. 

       In our endeavor to maintain the integrity of the Irish Setter breed we have been blessed to bring Chayenne, our boy from Ireland, into our family.  He has a loving, unselfish temperment towards people, the other setters and Poots{our cat}.  A fast learner and with a natural calmness that quickly endears one to him. He has multiple champions in his lineage. His sire is Oakdene Razzle Dazzle and his dam is Thendara Blooming Nora. The grandsire is Paris Match Thendora. The granddam is Thendora Lady Holly. Simmy, our girl from Ireland,  also has a multi champion lineage. Her sire is Glennara Coer De Lion and her dam is Glennara Baccarat. Her grandsire is Caskeys Concept At Aoibheanne and the granddam is Glenara Fleur De Mai. Simmy is a sweet princess with, beauty, outstanding health a strong spirit and willingness to please.

      At Soldier Mountain AKC Irish Setters we are determined to keep the breed as close to the original line as possible.  We do not inbreed  our dogs, nor do we breed them to other breeds Our dogs are never kenneled.  They are members of our family (furry kids).  They are true love bugs that are content to cuddle all day long or are ready, at a moments notice, to go out on the trail.  They are very versatile animals.  They are very calm, yet are ready to  romp and hunt anytime.  They are true companions and listening posts.  Their excellent bloodlines make them expectional dogs for hunting, show or service companions.  Irish Setters are natural hunters, calm and gentle.  Quality Irish Setters are becoming very rare, especially the calmer ones with gentle natures.
